Grouse Mountain Opens Its Slopes for the Winter Season!
Mark your calendars! Grouse Mountain is set to kick off its highly anticipated skiing and riding season on Friday, December 19, 2025, at noon, just in time for the holiday season. This year is particularly special as Grouse Mountain gears up to celebrate its centennial season in 2026.
A Celebration of Winter Fun
For winter sports enthusiasts, the opening day promises excitement with access to the beautiful Paradise and Paradise Jib Park via the Greenway Chair. Skiers and snowboarders can expect expanded terrain improvements as the weekend progresses. The thrill of the first runs, the sound of laughter, and the joyful camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts will fill the air, as local executive Grant Wahl captures perfectly, “There’s nothing like the energy of opening day, bringing the community of skiers and riders together and celebrating our shared love of the outdoors.”
Winter Activities Beyond Skiing
But skiing is not the only thing to look forward to! Visitors can also enjoy snowshoeing with popular trails already open, such as the Blue Grouse Lake Loop. Families will especially cherish the Peak of Christmas event, where guests can enjoy a delightful breakfast with Santa from December 19 to 24, filling the festive spirit in this beautiful winter wonderland.
What the Weather Has in Store
Weather forecasts are optimistic, predicting a La Niña climate for this winter that promises increased snowfall due to lower temperatures. Grouse Mountain has implemented an innovative Latitude 90 L60 snowmaking machine to ensure quality skiing regardless of the weather, aiming to maintain excellent snow conditions throughout the season.
Tickets and Passes: Unlock the Adventure
Advance lift tickets are available at a reduced price until more terrain opens, making it an excellent opportunity for families looking to enjoy a winter getaway. The skiing hours from Saturday onwards will be from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM, giving ample time to make the most of your visit!
